The new CLOT Summer Tee Collection 2017 is designed by CLOT’s Creative Director Edison Chen. In the collection, CLOT utilises playful colours and graphic logos to create a summery feel. The T-shirt designs draw references to old school graphics and the CLOT archive inspired by vintage film, popular culture and Hong Kong Cafés. To celebrate this special release, CLOT is setting up a Pop-Up store at The Box Sheung Wan from June 16-25.
The theme of the Pop-Up pays homage to the iconic Hong Kong style Café which originated in the 1950s - 1960s. Traditionally, a 冰室 (bing sut) was a small store with a snack license serving cold drinks, shaved ice, sandwiches and sweets. Eventually as these cafes became more popular with locals they catered for a larger menu serving hot dishes such as Hong Kong style spaghetti, French toast, macaroni soup and fried beef noodles. The evolution of the Hong Kong Café has become what we know now as 茶餐廳 (cha chaan teng).
CLOT's Summer Tee Collection 2017 will only be available at JUICE Hong Kong and CLOT.com from June 16.
